A friend of mine posted this on Facebook! So I wanted to post it here and hear what you think about this video. Enjoy.

You Reign

I love the fact that no matter what goes on in the World Christ still reigns. There is such a huge peace in my life becasue of that fact. I am so thankful that the "WORD" became flesh and dwelt among us. Have a blessed day and enjoy this video!

1 Corinthians 2: 1-5

1 Corinthians 2
1When I came to you, brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] 2For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. 4My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, 5so that your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power.

As a Youth Minister I feel torn down alot. You have to please so many people all the time. I feel like I have about 30 different bosses most of the time. I get down on myself and wonder if I really ever make a difference in my student lives. I read this passage again this morning and it was if God spoke out loud. It sent chills up my spine. "That your faith might not rest on men's wisdom, but on God's power." I love this passage because it strengthens my soul. My feelings of not being good enough and feeling down is not what my life should be about. I proclaim Christ and that is enough. I want to rest in that each day it is for His glory and not mine. I want to share Christ with people and let God be my rest. Pray that I follow this!

Have a great day!

My Morning with my Savior!

Once again I want to share from my Q.T. God really spoke through Mr. Chambers this morning. I was really impacted this and I hope you will be to.

November 12, 2008
The Changed Life
Oswald Chambers My Utmost for His Highest!

If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new —2 Corinthians 5:17

What understanding do you have of the salvation of your soul? The work of salvation means that in your real life things are dramatically changed. You no longer look at things in the same way. Your desires are new and the old things have lost their power to attract you. One of the tests for determining if the work of salvation in your life is genuine is— has God changed the things that really matter to you? If you still yearn for the old things, it is absurd to talk about being born from above— you are deceiving yourself. If you are born again, the Spirit of God makes the change very evident in your real life and thought. And when a crisis comes, you are the most amazed person on earth at the wonderful difference there is in you. There is no possibility of imagining that you did it. It is this complete and amazing change that is the very evidence that you are saved.
What difference has my salvation and sanctification made? For instance, can I stand in the light of 1 Corinthians 13 , or do I squirm and evade the issue? True salvation, worked out in me by the Holy Spirit, frees me completely. And as long as I "walk in the light as He is in the light" ( 1 John 1:7 ), God sees nothing to rebuke because His life is working itself into every detailed part of my being, not on the conscious level, but even deeper than my consciousness.

My Time with God this morning!

I am blown away each time I sit and listen to what God wants me to hear. This morning was a great time just letting God work in my heart. So I wanted to share again from my Q.T. This is from Oswald Chambers, My Utmost for His Highest! Enjoy!

November 10, 2008
Fellowship in the Gospel

. . . fellow laborer in the gospel of Christ . . . —1 Thessalonians 3:2

After sanctification, it is difficult to state what your purpose in life is, because God has moved you into His purpose through the Holy Spirit. He is using you now for His purposes throughout the world as He used His Son for the purpose of our salvation. If you seek great things for yourself, thinking, "God has called me for this and for that," you barricade God from using you. As long as you maintain your own personal interests and ambitions, you cannot be completely aligned or identified with God’s interests. This can only be accomplished by giving up all of your personal plans once and for all, and by allowing God to take you directly into His purpose for the world. Your understanding of your ways must also be surrendered, because they are now the ways of the Lord.
I must learn that the purpose of my life belongs to God, not me. God is using me from His great personal perspective, and all He asks of me is that I trust Him. I should never say, "Lord, this causes me such heartache." To talk that way makes me a stumbling block. When I stop telling God what I want, He can freely work His will in me without any hindrance. He can crush me, exalt me, or do anything else He chooses. He simply asks me to have absolute faith in Him and His goodness. Self-pity is of the devil, and if I wallow in it I cannot be used by God for His purpose in the world. Doing this creates for me my own cozy "world within the world," and God will not be allowed to move me from it because of my fear of being "frost-bitten."

Have a blessed day seeking and following the Lord!

Hmmm......

I don't really use myspace anymore. I use to alot about 2 years ago because I am a Youth Minister,I wanted to be able to keep up with my students. But now with facebook it is just easier and not so many crazy ads........ Tonight I decided to check myspace and see if I had any messages. I signed in and the first thing I saw tonight was an ad...... Saying click here to find your perfect religion. All you have to do is answer a few question and they will match you with the right religion for you!!! This is such crap. I am so tired of our world and how we try to make everything about and for us. Jesus Christ is and always will be the only way. Anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. It is not about Religion it is about a relationship. People please understand there is not some magical religion that is gonna make you feel good and help make you millions. But I can say this there is a Christ who loves you more than anything and showed you by dying on a cross for your sins. So stop trying to find something to make you feel better and start living for the one who died for you. If we began to live a life that pleased Him our world would be changed.

Q.T. from the other day

Thought I would post this! It did my heart good!

The Place of Exaltation
. . . Jesus took . . . them up on a high mountain apart by themselves . . . —Mark 9:2

We have all experienced times of exaltation on the mountain, when we have seen things from God’s perspective and have wanted to stay there. But God will never allow us to stay there. The true test of our spiritual life is in exhibiting the power to descend from the mountain. If we only have the power to go up, something is wrong. It is a wonderful thing to be on the mountain with God, but a person only gets there so that he may later go down and lift up the demon-possessed people in the valley (see Mark 9:14-18 ). We are not made for the mountains, for sunrises, or for the other beautiful attractions in life— those are simply intended to be moments of inspiration. We are made for the valley and the ordinary things of life, and that is where we have to prove our stamina and strength. Yet our spiritual selfishness always wants repeated moments on the mountain. We feel that we could talk and live like perfect angels, if we could only stay on the mountaintop. Those times of exaltation are exceptional and they have their meaning in our life with God, but we must beware to prevent our spiritual selfishness from wanting to make them the only time.

We are inclined to think that everything that happens is to be turned into useful teaching. In actual fact, it is to be turned into something even better than teaching, namely, character. The mountaintop is not meant to teach us anything, it is meant to make us something. There is a terrible trap in always asking, "What’s the use of this experience?" We can never measure spiritual matters in that way. The moments on the mountaintop are rare moments, and they are meant for something in God’s purpose.

Sunday Night

Acts 13:36"For when David had served God's purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his fathers and his body decayed.

Last night I took 25 students to see the Skit guys at FBC Clinton for The Call. It was a great time hanging with my students and get to know them better. The Skit guys did many funny skits that I was really familiar with. But something Hit me again last night during the David and Goliath skit. They were talking about David and they made this statement from God's word "David fulfilled his purpose for his generation and then died". I that verse on my headstone "Worm fulfilled his purpose for His generation and died". How wonderful it would be to stand before God and know you did what God created you to do. So tonight are you fulfilling your purpose?

Baseball

I love this time of the year! We have awesome college football, High School football, and my favorite, playoff baseball. I can't believe that I have both my favorite teams playing. In the American League, the Red Sox and in the National League, the Chicago Cubs. In 1997, I left my beloved Atlanta Braves and became a hard core Cubs fan. My dad, the next year, was diagnosed with kidney cancer. All we did was watch the "The Chase" (Mark McGuire and Sammy Sosa)! It is still probably some of the greatest memories of my father. I became a Red Sox fan in the summer of 1996 due to my old youth pastor, Brent. He loved the Red Sox, and I was a Cleavland Indians fan. He would tape the Red Sox games, and we began to watch them. The fans were awesome! They loved their team with such passion. The Green Monster, the hatred for the Yankee's. I was hooked.

So here I am, 12 years later cheering them on as both teams play in the Major League playoffs. The cubs are down 2-0 to the LA Dodgers. But something inside me says, as we head to LA, we are gonna take the next two. The Red Sox come in as the wild card. They are playing the LA Angels. We are up 1-0 on a great pitching performance from John Lester. I cannot wait for game 2 tonight. It is gonna be a good one.

I love this time of the year. It brings back many memories. I miss sharing them with my dad. But now, I am the Dad, and I have a little 2 year old daughter who loves to watch baseball with her daddy. We are gonna kick back tonight and make new memories as I tell her the stories of why baseball is the greatest game in all the world! So, on this October day in 2008, I miss ya dad. But I know you will be watching!

So to all you guys and gals who read this, begin to build memories with your families! Why not start tonight and cheer on the Boston Red Sox!
